Spotlight Wednesday: Dangerous Curves Ahead

Today I have the pleasure of spotlighting Tammy of Dangerous Curves Ahead.

Renee M.: What kind of business is Dangerous Curves Ahead?

Tammy: Dangerous Curves Ahead is boutique Lingerie Company catering towards the curvy diva.

Renee M: When did you start your business?

Tammy: I started my business at the end of 2009 when it becomes apparent that many lingerie companies were ignoring the real woman.  The average woman is a size 14, yet most lingerie outlets still cater to the size 4.  Well that's where Dangerous Curves Ahead comes in.  We cater to women size 10-26. We show women that sexy and confident comes in a variety of sizes.

Renee M.: What advice would you give others who are thinking about starting a business?

Tammy: It's one thing to talk about starting a business; it's another to be about it! I say this because many people talk about starting a business, yet they never do.  You have to follow up your words with actions, you can not let FEAR (False Expectations Appearing Real) keep you from following your dream.  Starting a business requires a level of dedication that most people do not have.  So to anyone who is looking to start a business and make it successful needs to know that it requires much patience, dedication and resolve.  You must be willing to go the long haul and not give up on yourself even if others have.

Renee M.: What is the name of website?

Tammy: Our website is coming soon. Our online home will be dangerouscurvesaheadonline.com

Renee M.: Name of blog and link to follow?

Tammy: I love to blog!  Our blog is: http://www.dangerouscurvesahead.wordpress.com/

Renee M.: Newsletter and link to sign up?

Renee M.: Do you have any events / specials coming up.

Tammy: We always have specials on our blogsite, so feel free to check out: www. dangerouscurvesahead.wordpress.com

Renee M.: Is there anything else you would like to share about your business.

Tammy: We will be opening up a direct sales opportunity for ladies who want to start their own Dangerous Curves Ahead business.  Interested ladies should contact us at curves@dangerouscurvesaheadonline.com

Time for the FUN questions. We must remember that throwing in a little bit of fun can make a big difference. Tammy was nice enough to have a little fun with us and answer these questions.

Renee M.: What are things you can't live without?

Tammy: Chocolate!

.

Renee M.: What are your pet peeves?

Tammy: loud people!

Renee M.: If you were given 3 wishes what would you wish for?

Tammy: There are so many people who are living beneath their potential.  Everyone has talents and abilities to offer the world, and when people live beneath their potential the world suffers are as a result.  So my only wish would be for people to pursue their passion and walk in their purpose.

Thank you so much Tammy for sharing information about your business with us. Paint Me A Fortune

Feel like your business is suffering a slight imperfection? Don't worry, a little bit of concealer will fix that. Take a walk with me down Foundation Lane where lip gloss pops and eye shadow glimmers. Let's make a stop on Eyebrow Archway and let your eyelashes magically make the people blush.

Just like most women, I love and adore having my make up professionally applied. It has its way of bringing the inner and outer supermodel in me. From the moment I sit in the artists chair amazement overcomes me. The artist’s creativity begins to flow and transfers from the brush, into the makeup, and finally onto my face, the make up artist’s canvas. That amazing energy instantaneously flows through my skin and causes my self-confidence to boost 100%. As a make up artist boosting self-confidence translates into boosting business and boosting business….well, it can only go up from there.

If you are reading this article, it’s likely you are a make up artist looking to “go up from there”? Try something out of the ordinary. Dedicate and donate a few hours out of your day to beautifying deserving women. Connect with one of your states homeless shelters or domestic violence centers and offer free makeup sessions to their clients. Once you are given the green light create fliers for the center/shelter to distribute to the women to insure a full house the day of your event. On the day of your sessions take you’re beautiful, make-up applied face and of course your promotional materials, such as business cards, coupons, portfolio, etc with you. After your sessions, provide each guest with a business card and a coupon.

Offer them a free session for every five paid clients they refer to you. You may even want to create a small grab bag for each lady with your information, a card with an inspirational quote and an inexpensive lip gloss. Be sure to provide material and information to the center and the women who work there as well. By providing promotional materials you greatly enhance the probability of clients.

Although you are looking to promote your business by offering this session, keep in mind your audience and how much this may “boost their self-confidence”. If possible take pictures of this event, create a scrap book for yourself and for the center. Each time you look at this book it will be a reminder as to why you became a make up artist and believe the women will remember this experience as well. Although you may not be able to show others your work, feel free to blog about it and send a newsletter to your current clients. You have gained the respect of this state based organization and its affiliates, created connections women from all races and backgrounds and only spent a few hours of your day doing so.

Ok, so that was a fun stroll through the world of make up. I'm going to run and take a look in the mirror while you run straight to the bank and cash in on the ideas. Remember my goal is to create success one business at a time. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them at the bottom of this article or email them to me. mcclainconsulting@yahoo.com
